About Dennis

Born in Heidelberg, Germany, I grew up surrounded by different forms of creative expression. I work as a legal associate, but my interests have always extended beyond a single profession.

I started producing music at a young age as Vaan, initially focusing on electronic music, but shifted my focus on orchestral and atmospheric compositions, as I have always been captivated by video-game music.

Thus, I started composing under my real name, pursuing a dark and restrained atmospheric style, centered on tension and emotional ambiguity. Selected tracks are available for licensing for games, trailers, short films, reels, campaigns, and other creative projects.

Alongside music, I am currently writing a high fantasy book series titled The Final Ember Series, and I enjoy creating landscape and automotive photography and videography, including within virtual worlds such as ELDEN RING.

Outside of creative work, I spend time lifting, reading, gaming, playing e-guitar and sim racing. Works such as Berserk and the titles by FromSoftware continue to influence my creative work, particularly in terms of worldbuilding, atmosphere, and musical direction.
